Sr. Database Administrator/Manager

• Manage databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
• Ensure reliability, responsiveness, and recoverability of database systems through regular system maintenance and backups.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for data-related projects, fully understanding processes and their impact on the overall business; analyzes, identifies, and implements potential process and systems enhancements.
• Work in conjunction with the Head of Department to formulate and verify technology standards, implementation plans, and schedules that meet the requirements of Product teams.
• Work with business and application solution teams to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop logical and physical data models.
• Enhance and govern data modeling and design standards, tools, best practices, and related development for enterprise data models and database structures.
• Create standard procedures to enhance the scalability and performance of the existing database architecture.
• Troubleshoot complex database issues in an accurate and timely manner.
• Maintain database disaster recovery procedures to ensure continuous availability and speedy recovery.
• Prepare reports on database scalability and capacity planning as needed.
• Identify and resolve database issues related to performance and capacity.
• Ensure database management and maintenance tasks are performed effectively.
•  Conduct training programs for staff on database development and maintenance procedures.
• Perform regular audits to ensure data integrity and quality.
• Lead and deliver technical briefings on Azure database technologies – Azure Data Factory ADF, Azure SQL, Azure Synapse analytics, PolyBase, Azure BLOB, Data migration to Azure, Azure data management tools
•  Secures the database by developing policies, procedures, and controls.
• Conducting diagnostic tests and evaluating performance metrics.
• Resolve complex data loading issues confronting BI/ETL by providing solutions e.g. partitioning
• Develop and supervise the Data Integration design and implementation (e.g. messaging, replication, and APIs).
